I was 15 when I met Eve. She came to Dargaville High School for a talk and visit. I don't remember too much only she was an amazing li'l' girl.

Eve was 5 years younger than me and was so much more clever; so amazing to talk to. I love you Eve.

When you passed away in November 1993, just after all this time remembered your full name. I have told my kids about you. I didn't know you but miss you heaps. You really touched my heart and I loved you ever since I met you.

Also my best friend died in 1995 of HIV as well. Your brave words of wisdom I had remembered and it got me through the loss of Charlies passing. Thanks Eve.

Hope you are OK where you are, looking down on this world and taking care of your family.

I'm 35 now which means you will be 30 next year. I think if I remember, you were 11 when we were told your battle was over. The whole school mourned for you - even the hard-hearted kids. We spent a whole period in the hall talking about how fun you were and clever and beautiful and BRAVE AND AMAZING.
